Pix.Rael's out-door exhibitions have been held now for two years, using tarpaulin as the material used to exhibit. This material has excellent tensile strength but it is considered as a hazardous waste. Our new project, Pix.Rael Recycle invites young Jewish designers to re-think traditional Jewish art by using the fabric of the last exhibitions for the new one.
Handicraft workshops open to the general student population will be set up during Sukkot, on the 30th of September, where the participants can make personal objects and can get familiar with contemporary Jewish design. By using this material we will be able to encourage environmentally friendly art in a unique Jewish context.
